We are very grateful to the WSFF judges, who dedicate their time for free not only to use their extensive experience and knowledge to decide on the winners for each award category, but also take the time to provide critiques and advice to the short filmmakers who enter the competition, as well as providing invaluable support to the festival itself.<\/p>

Peter Lydon<\/h3>

Peter successfully moves between\ncommercials and high profile TV\ndrama. For television he has directed\ncult classics like Shameless, Teachers,\nSecret Diary of a Call Girl and Vincent.\nHe won a Royal Television Society\nAward for his period drama Garrow\u2019s\nLaw for BBC1. Peter has written and\ndirected several prize winning short\nfilms. His latest Dating Eliza recently\nwon 6 awards including top short\nfilm prizes at LA Comedy Festival,\nBermuda Film Festival, Fasnet Short\nFilm Festival, The Sharks Festival in\nCork. He cut his directing teeth as\na documentary maker with award\nwinning films for BBC Arena and The\nSouth Bank Show. His three-part\nbiography of Peter Sellers was BAFTA\nnominated and won several major\nawards in the US.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Paul Carter<\/h3>

Following many years in a varied\ncareer including working in marketing,\ncircus ownership and freelancing in\nradio, Paul Carter has been at the\nUniversity of Winchester for fifteen\nyears where he is a Senior Lecturer.\nHe specialises in early film history and\ntechnology and started the programme\nin Media and Film Production. He has\na particular interest in editing and\npost production, and is an Apple\nCertified Trainer.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Lucy Mazdon<\/h3>

Lucy Mazdon has published widely\nin the field of film and television, her\nrecent publications include essays\nexploring Franco-British Cinematic\nRelations (Je t\u2019aime, moi non plus:\nFranco-British Cinematic Relations,\nBerghahn, 2010). Currently Mazdon\nteaches courses on contemporary\nFrench cinema, French cinema of the\n1930\u2019s, and cinema and childhood,\nat the renowned University of\nSouthampton.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Tim Underwood<\/h3>

A graduate of the University of\nPlymouth\u2019s innovative Media Lab arts\ndegree course, Underwood has worked\non projects for the BBC, CITV, and\naward-winning children\u2019s television\nproduction company Darrall Macqueen.\nCurrently working as graphic designer,\nhe moonlights as a committee member\nfor the Winchester Film Society.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Sarah Li<\/h3>

She is now\ncurrently directing independent documentaries\naround the world, having produced\nshort films which have been selected\nfor Oscar and BAFTA qualifying\nfilm festivals. She has worked with\nestablished industry talent such as\nAidan Gillen (Game of Thrones, The\nWire), Anthony Head (Buffy The\nVampire Slayer); David Johnson\n(DOP Aliens 3; Resident Evil) and\nOwen McPolin (DOP Penny Dreadful).\nWhen her home is not a guesthouse\nor a friends spare room, her base is in\nStockbridge where she grew up.\n<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Lorne Guy<\/h3>

Lorne Guy\u2019s company Good Guys\nProductions has produced adverts\nand film dramas for brands such as\nGillette, Serco, and the Home Office.\nGood Guys origins lay within theatre,\nbut moved ten years ago into video\nfilm production and now produce ads,\npromo campaigns, dramas and\ncorporate dramas. Lorne\u2019s short\nfilms have been around the world,\nwinning audience awards in LA,\nBrighton and San Francisco. Lorne was\nalso a winner of a Royal Television\nSociety award in 2010, an LA-based\nSony Movie Competition award in\n2012 and pushed a bit of comedy as a\nfinalist at the 2011 CoFilmic Comedy\nAwards. His first feature road movie\nis currently in development with\nParkville Pictures.

Jonah Weston<\/h3>

Jonah Weston is an award-winning\ndocumentary filmmaker. With twenty\nfive years in the business, he has\nworked for all the major broadcasters\nboth here and in the US, including\nBBC and Channel 4, the Discovery\nChannel and National Geographic.\nHe was BAFTA nominated for his first\nfilm An Anatomy of Disgust and his\nfilm Feral Children remains the highest\nrated documentary ever on Channel 4\nTelevision. Jonah now works mainly\nas an Executive Producer, helping\ndirectors bring their vision to the screen.\n<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
